1) Personally, Goo Goo Dolls (for teaching me to appreciate pop), Juliana Theory (for opening the door to another world of music), Silly Fools (for showing me that music in another language can be more powerful than in your own), Sufjan Stevens (for helping me fall in love with where I live), Asian Kung-Fu Generation (for fuelling my dreams of living in Japan), Mat Kearney (for providing some deep, truth-filled lyrics about life as a believer), Matt Pond PA (who have a set of songs for every season in my life), Denison Witmer (who speaks healing directly into my heart - seriously, how does he do it?), and, within the past 6 months, Bon Iver (for stripping down and singing bare, haunting emotion).
2) Worldwide, this one is harder. Probably U2 (for what they do, not so much what they sing), Sufjan (for allowing a different side of music to make it big), and perhaps Radiohead. Ummm... actually, there are too many that are influential and important, I'm just gonna stop there. PEACE.
U2, Coldplay, Radiohead, Dave Matthews Band, Dixie Chicks, Sufjan Stevens, Bella Sebastian, Jay-Z, T-Bone Burnett along with Alison K and Union Station, Beastie Boys, Eddie Vedder, Moby, Foo Fighters, Eminem, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M., The Killers, Beyonce Knowles, Kanye West, Lucinda Williams, John Mayer
This question puts me in turmoil every time I think to answer it. I just can't hone it all in! I am concluding that we would have to deconstruct this one for hours Amy. So let's finish finals and we will accomplish this daunting task...
I am a simple girl. I am dialoguing to the sounds and movements of my life. Sometimes it is music, movies, art, or theology.
I was asked what I do to relax and I had to think about it. It wasn't the ocean or play. It wasn't something like a museum. When I really thought about it I love going to a concert, taking it all in, and having a drink.

Mr. Wayne Coehn.
For us personally, or for the world in general?
I'll do both:
